PRODUCT CAPABILITIES

Messaging built around your product.

See how conversation lists, message views and composers fit together, and where your product’s styling and custom messages belong.

Compose the conversation screens

Build from connected conversation and message components, then choose the surrounding layout and navigation. Available modules vary by platform and UI Kit release.

React UI Kit quickstart

Adapt the visual style

Use supported theme and extension APIs to bring chat into your visual system. Validate contrast, long messages, loading states, and layout behavior after customization.

React UI Kit quickstart

Add a message for your product

Create a custom renderer for a booking, order, or activity. Keep real transaction state and action authorization in the backend that owns that workflow.

React custom message guide

Connect navigation and unread state

Connect the inbox to your app’s navigation and notifications. Test selected conversations, return paths, account changes, and notification deep links on every supported target.

React ConversationList component API

Make rich media part of the conversation

Start with supported image, file, and audio message components. Give users a preview before they send and make attachments easy to open; configure upload limits and native permissions for your platform.

JavaScript message APIs

Keep group conversations organized

Use your platform’s group and member components to expose conversation details and membership. Connect actions such as joining, inviting, and leaving to the group model and access rules your product needs.

WHY TENCENT RTC

Ready-made UI still needs a product integration.

A chat UI kit can shorten component work, but your app still supplies authenticated identities, conversation permissions, navigation, and business rules. Start with the correct platform guide and check its dependencies before deciding the integration scope.

Start with connected components

Conversation lists, message views, and composers already connect to Chat state. This can reduce the interface wiring your team needs to implement.

Make the product feel like your own

Platform-specific theme and extension APIs support branded chat and application-specific message presentation without requiring a separate chat destination.

Choose how much interface to adopt

Select the components supported by your platform, or use the Core SDK for areas requiring complete UI ownership. Review component scope before estimating the build.

Chat UI Kits FAQs

Answers for product and engineering teams.

Is a chat UI kit only a visual template?

Tencent RTC UI Kits contain components connected to Chat functionality. They still require an application, authentication, configuration, and the relevant SDK and native dependencies.

Which chat UI kit should I use for React?

Use the React UI Kit for web interfaces. React Native has a separate package and native setup for mobile applications; the two integration paths are not interchangeable.

Can I use only part of the UI kit?

The available modules and extension points differ by platform. Review its current documentation to select components or replace parts of the experience.

Can I use my own UI instead?

Yes. Choose the Core Chat SDK for a fully custom screen and use server APIs for your backend operations.

Does the visual preview connect to Tencent RTC?

The on-page preview demonstrates local UI behavior with fictional participants. Open the official Chat demo to evaluate the connected product.

How should we decide between a UI Kit and the Core SDK?

Use a UI Kit when its connected components and extension points fit the product. Choose the Core SDK when you need complete ownership of message rendering, navigation, and interaction; compare the actual screens you would otherwise implement.

How do I customize a chat UI kit for my application?

Choose documented theming and component extension points for your platform. Test custom messages, navigation and unread behavior together with the initialized Chat SDK.

Which chat UI kit works with React Native or Flutter?

These platforms have separate packages and native setup. Follow the corresponding guide instead of reusing React Web components or assuming identical extension APIs.
